The rhythm of the college football season is starting to settle in, and each week we see potential 2026 draft prospects separating themselves from the pack. In the 2026 Draft Spotlight, I highlight one emerging player whose performance and profile are elevating their stock — breaking down what it means for their draft projection, devy value, and long-term dynasty outlook.

This week, the spotlight shifts to Texas A&M wide receiver Kevin Concepcion, a true third-year breakout who has taken his game to another level in 2025. Concepcion arrived in College Station as a dynamic playmaker, the type of athlete you scheme touches for. But now? He’s evolved into a complete receiver — winning at all three levels, dominating after the catch, and becoming one of the SEC’s most reliable offensive weapons.

Through ten games, he’s racked up 47 receptions for 787 yards and eight touchdowns, while also being one of the most dangerous returners in the country with 356 punt return yards and two touchdowns. Concepcion has become the engine of the Aggies’ offense and one of the premier explosive threats in college football. Let’s take a deeper look at how he’s made the leap from gadget weapon to legitimate WR1-level prospect.

Player Introduction & Context

Before this season kicked off, one of the biggest headline additions for Texas A&M was the arrival of Kevin Concepcion, the versatile playmaker who transferred in from NC State. The Aggies desperately needed juice at wide receiver after last year’s struggles in the passing game — and Mike Elko knew exactly who could provide it.

Elko had already seen Concepcion up close during his time at Duke, and that first impression stuck with him. Even as a true freshman, Concepcion was the kind of player defensive coordinators circled on the scouting report. Slot snaps, vertical go routes, jet sweeps, backfield touches — NC State threw the entire playbook at him, and he handled all of it with ease. In their matchup, Concepcion was the only spark the Wolfpack had, finishing with 63 yards through the air and adding 33 more on the ground. Even in a loss, his playmaking stood out.

Fast forward to now, and his new teammates at Texas A&M echo the same message: this dude is different.

“He’s a real guy. Explosive. Electric,” one Aggie defender said this offseason and it didn’t take long for that to translate on the field.

Concepcion entered College Station with a strong résumé already in hand. In two years at NC State, he totaled 124 catches for 1,299 yards and 16 touchdowns, plus another 356 rushing yards sprinkled in. His freshman season was special — 839 yards, 10 touchdowns, ACC Rookie of the Year, and Freshman All-America honors. But quarterback inconsistency and a stagnant offense stunted his sophomore production.

That’s what made this transfer the perfect reset.

At Texas A&M, Concepcion hasn’t just bounced back; he’s leveled up. Through seven games, he’s emerged as one of the SEC’s most dynamic weapons, posting 47 receptions for 787 yards and eight touchdowns, while doubling as a deadly return specialist with 356 punt return yards and two touchdowns. He’s gone from “gadget weapon” to “complete wide receiver,” refining his game while keeping the explosive traits that made him so dangerous at NC State.

Simply put: Concepcion has become the go-to guy in Aggieland, and his 2026 NFL Draft stock is skyrocketing because of it.
