As we officially close the book on the 2026 NFL Draft cycle, all eyes now shift toward what many believe could become one of the most exciting devy classes we’ve seen in years… the 2027 class. The talent influx at the top is obvious, but what really stands out is the depth across multiple positions. Quarterback talent is loaded, the wide receiver group continues to expand with elite upside, and there are several young running backs beginning to emerge as future cornerstone dynasty assets.

This marks the first iteration of my 2027 Superflex Big Board, a way-too-early look at how I currently value the class in a 12-Team Superflex PPR TE Premium format. These rankings will evolve over time as players develop, situations change, and production begins to shape the landscape, but the foundation of this class is already beginning to take form. We’re seeing dynasty managers aggressively target 2027 capital in trades, and the market excitement surrounding these picks is very real.

Throughout this series, we’ll break down the strengths of the class, areas where the group still lacks depth, projected value ranges, and how these prospects currently stack up from both a fantasy and NFL Draft perspective. We’ll also continue monitoring how the devy market values these picks as the cycle progresses because understanding the market early is one of the biggest edges dynasty managers can create.

This is only the beginning. Let’s dive into the future of the 2027 class.

Strengths of the 2027 Class

Quarterback Upside Could Define This Cycle

The quarterback position is always volatile in devy. Development matters, situations matter, and things can change quickly. But if a few of these quarterbacks continue progressing the way many expect, we could be looking at another historic quarterback class by the time the 2027 NFL Draft arrives. There is legitimate Round 1 upside throughout the group, and it would not be surprising if this class eventually produces four to five first-round quarterbacks.

That possibility alone is a major reason why 2027 first-round picks already carry significant value in Superflex formats. If the quarterback class hits the way many expect, it creates a cascading effect throughout rookie drafts. Elite quarterbacks rise to the top, while talented positional players get pushed further down the board. That makes nearly every 2027 first-round pick more valuable because managers could still be landing premium non-quarterback prospects deeper into Round 1 than normal.

Arch Manning, Julian Sayin, Dante Moore, CJ Carr, and LaNorris Sellers headline the group right now, but there are still several quarterbacks with developmental upside who could rise over the next year. The ceiling of this class starts with the quarterback position.

Wide Receiver Depth Looks Extremely Strong

The wide receiver position may ultimately become the defining strength of the entire class. Jeremiah Smith is the clear headliner and currently stands alone as the early 1.01 in devy formats. He is the centerpiece of the class and already looks like one of the premier WR prospects we’ve seen enter college football in years.

But what makes this receiver group exciting is not just the elite talent at the top; it’s the depth throughout the class. Bryant Wesco, Cam Coleman, Ryan Wingo, Nick Marsh, TJ Moore, Ryan Williams, Charlie Becker, and several others give this group legitimate NFL upside across multiple tiers. There are also plenty of breakout candidates who could emerge over the next season and completely reshape the landscape. This is the type of WR class that could produce impact NFL starters well beyond the first round of rookie drafts. The depth is real.

Running Back Has Room To Grow

Running back is probably the biggest wildcard in the class right now. The top-end group is beginning to emerge with Kewan Lacy, Jadan Baugh, and Ahmad Hardy currently leading the way, but the position still feels wide open overall. That is not necessarily a bad thing this early in the cycle. Running backs tend to rise quickly once opportunities and workloads increase, and this class still has plenty of room for movement. There are several backs sitting outside the current spotlight who have the talent to make major jumps over the next year. The upside is there. The position just needs more clarity.

Tight End Already Looks Better Than 2026

Early on, the tight end position looks significantly stronger than what we saw in the 2026 cycle. Trey’Dez Green and Jamari Johnson headline the group with real athletic upside, size, and developmental traits that could eventually make them premium dynasty assets. The depth at the position also feels healthier overall. While tight end development always takes patience, this class already appears to have more intriguing long-term options compared to last year’s group.
