5 Dynasty Takeaways From Week 2
Kevin Coleman breaks down his top 5 dynasty takeaways from Week 2.
Week 2 of the NFL season is in the books, and if there’s one thing we’ve learned, dynasty football can flip the script instantly. Just last week, Marvin Harrison Jr. was labeled a bust because his MPH but fast forward to this week, and he’s reclaimed his spot as a top 5 Dynasty WR. This kind of volatility is precisely why we love the dynasty format. It's a game of patience, value shifts, and making the right moves at the right time. In this article, I’ll break down my top five takeaways from Week 2 through a dynasty lens, showing how quickly things can change and how to capitalize on those shifts.
Las Vegas Raiders TE Brock Bowers Could Be Dynasty TE1
Prior to the season when we wrote our big draft guide here was our Brock Bowers take:
“Bowers heading to Las Vegas was one of the bigger surprises of the draft, but it makes sense based on their offensive production last season. The Raiders offense was one of the worst in the league in points per game and yards per game. Part of the problem was their porous quarterback play, and that's not something they've addressed entirely, but Gardner Minshew can be serviceable for fantasy purposes. The key to Bowers' outlook is offensive coordinator Luke Getsy. Getsy’s offense will highlight the tight end position and he turned Cole Kmet into one of the better tight ends in the league. The expectation should be that Michael Mayer will turn into more of an inline blocking tight end while Bowers is used in the slot and as their WR2 option. In the long term, once Davante Adams leaves, Bowers could be their #1 option. There is a lot to like about this spot, and Bowers should remain a top 7 pick in rookie drafts. Don’t overvalue the spot draft the talent.”
That take has been spot on and one of the prime reasons why you draft the talent, not the landing spot. In just two games, Bowers has the potential to emerge as the dynasty TE1. In just two games, he's already racked up 17 targets, the second-most on the team behind Davante Adams, proving his involvement in the offense. The Raiders have leaned heavily on their passing game, which further benefits Bowers. He sits at a 23.9% target share, with Adams just ahead of him at 25.4%. More importantly, his first read share is 26.7%, and this quick passing offense with Gardner Minshew as quarterback has established that they are either throwing to Bowers or Adams. He’s currently TE2 on the year, averaging 15.3 fantasy points per game, and has been the most consistent tight end in fantasy through two weeks. Even if Adams moves on in the next two years or stays Bowers is clearly a pivotal piece in this system and could be TE1 already.

Indianapolis Colts WR Alec Pierce Might Be Underrated
Alec Pierce is shaping up to be an underrated asset early in the season. In Week 1, he flashed his downfield potential with a huge 60-yard grab as part of a 125-yard, three-catch performance, showing how he can be a deep threat for Anthony Richardson. He followed that up with five catches for 56 yards and a touchdown on seven targets in Week 2, proving he can contribute in the short and intermediate passing game as well. Until Adonai Mitchell gets fully up to speed, Pierce looks locked in as the Colts’ No. 2 receiver. While there’s always competition for that spot, Pierce’s production and role in the offense give him strong flex appeal in fantasy lineups.
Pierce currently holds a 20.8% target share and averages 90.5 receiving yards per game, with an impressive 3.62 yards per route run and a first-read share of 20%. Even though injuries held him back last year, he's healthy now and showing why he can be a reliable piece for Indianapolis. With Josh Downs possibly returning in Week 3, Mitchell might see reduced playing time, but Pierce should remain a starter alongside Michael Pittman. He’s worth stashing on any dynasty roster as a solid depth option, especially for contenders. If you’re rebuilding, however, it might be time to consider moving Pierce for a second-round pick if you can capitalize on his early production and market value. You could also add a pick with Pierce to tier up into higher-valued dynasty assets.

Tennessee Titans RB Tony Pollard Is A Contender Buy
"Volume is Coming." In the world of dynasty fantasy football, that’s what we’re chasing, and Tony Pollard is delivering. Pollard has established himself as the clear lead back for the Titans' ground game, and even though Tyjae Spears exited Week 2 with an ankle injury, Pollard had already locked in his role as RB1. Through two games, Pollard has consistently been the top option, and his involvement in the passing game (10 total targets) only adds to his value. Spears may be day-to-day with the ankle issue, but even when healthy, Pollard is the Titans' workhorse.
For dynasty contenders, volume is king, and Pollard is getting it. He’s about to face a vulnerable Packers run defense in Week 3, which sets him up for another big opportunity. The key here is that Pollard’s role as the lead back won’t change, and his pass-catching work gives him a solid floor each week. As long as he stays healthy, Pollard is a must-buy for contenders. You want backs with heavy usage, and Pollard checks all the boxes—if you’re not on him yet, it’s time to change that.
