The waiver wire is where leagues can be won, but waiting until Tuesday morning often means competing with everyone else for the same breakout names. Beat the Waiver Wire is designed to help you get one step ahead by identifying players worth adding or stashing before Monday Night Football kicks off.
Some of these players can provide immediate help, while others are bets on talent, opportunity, or a role that could grow in the coming weeks. Not every addition needs to become an instant starter. Sometimes, the best move is simply securing a player before the rest of your league realizes why he matters.
Quarterback
Carson Wentz (QB, MIN)
Carson Wentz is not the most exciting name on the waiver wire, but sometimes streaming quarterbacks is all about finding the right matchup.
Chicago just allowed Bryce Young to throw for 353 yards while Carolina piled up 478 yards of total offense. Young had surpassed 350 passing yards only once before that performance. If Kyler Murray cannot clear concussion protocol, Wentz would step into one of the best quarterback matchups of Week 2.
He would also have Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison at his disposal, giving him considerably more receiving talent than Young had against this defense. Wentz is a clear streaming option in deeper one-quarterback leagues and should be added immediately in Superflex formats if Murray is ruled out.
