C2C Strategy + Start/Sit Guide - Week 1
Winning your college matchups with data, system insights, and waiver wire moves.
Each Tuesday throughout the season, this article will serve as your go-to resource for winning the college side of your C2C leagues. Whether you're grinding waivers, setting optimal lineups, or looking to exploit matchups based on offensive systems, this guide will cover it all.
We’ll break down key waiver adds, dive into start/sit decisions using matchup data and usage trends, and highlight which college offenses you need pieces of (or should be fading). Plus, Jay’s Data Corner will give you a weekly dose of analytics to sharpen your process.
If you're trying to win Saturdays and set up your dynasty roster for Sundays, this is the article for you. Let’s get into it.
Section 1: Stock Up / Stock Down (Temperature Check)
Tracking player value swings that impact lineups, trades, and long-term outlook.
Week 0 is often unpredictable — limited slates, small sample sizes, and matchups that can skew expectations. But while it’s important not to overreact, early production and usage trends can offer clues for what’s coming. Here are a few players whose Week 0 performances stood out — for better or worse.
📈 Stock Up
Avery Johnson, QB, Kansas State
Even in a losing effort, Johnson flashed top-tier CFF upside, finishing with 35+ fantasy points. He threw for 273 yards and two touchdowns while adding another score on the ground — showcasing the dual-threat ability that gives him a sky-high weekly ceiling. With Dylan Edwards banged up, Johnson may shoulder even more rushing responsibility. It’s early, but he looks like a potential difference-maker in both CFF and C2C formats.
Maverick McIvor, QB, Western Kentucky
The next man up in Western Kentucky’s high-octane passing system delivered in a big way. McIvor threw for 401 yards and 3 touchdowns, adding another score on the ground in a dominant win over Sam Houston. WKU has a proven track record with pass-happy offenses (Zappe, Reed), and McIvor appears poised to be the next volume monster. He’s a must-add in CFF leagues and could be a QB3 stash in deeper C2C formats.
Micah Ford, RB, Stanford
Stanford may be headed for a rough season, but Ford might be the bright spot. He carried the ball 26 times for 113 yards and a TD, operating as the clear focal point of the offense. While Stanford’s lack of scoring opportunities caps his upside, volume is king, and Ford looks like a weekly floor play in CFF. If he keeps producing in a bad situation, don’t be surprised if he hits the transfer portal after the season.
