C2C Strategy + Start/Sit Guide - Week 5
Winning your college matchups with data, system insights, and waiver wire moves.
Each Tuesday throughout the season, this article will serve as your go-to resource for winning the college side of your C2C leagues. Whether you're grinding waivers, setting optimal lineups, or looking to exploit matchups based on offensive systems, this guide will cover it all.
We’ll break down key waiver adds, dive into start/sit decisions using matchup data and usage trends, and highlight which college offenses you need pieces of (or should be fading). Plus, Jay’s Data Corner will give you a weekly dose of analytics to sharpen your process.
If you're trying to win Saturdays and set up your dynasty roster for Sundays, this is the article for you. Let’s get into it.
🧊 Section 1: Stock Up / Stock Down (Temperature Check)
Tracking player value swings that impact lineups, trades, and long-term outlook.
We’re five weeks into the season, and the board is already shifting. While dozens of players are gaining or losing steam every week, these are the ones that stand out to me the most, whether it’s a breakout you can buy into or a warning sign you shouldn’t ignore.
Stock Up
WR Eric McAlister, TCU
Eric McAlister had two touchdowns stripped from him on Saturday — one ripped away in the end zone and another overturned on review — and still walked out with a career day. The Boise State transfer completely took over TCU’s 35-24 win over SMU, posting 8 receptions for 254 yards and 3 TDs, averaging a ridiculous 31.8 yards per catch. His 254 receiving yards were the second-most in program history, falling just short of Josh Doctson’s 2015 record.
McAlister entered the year as an analyst favorite, but a slow start (5 catches for 66 yards across the first two games) had many ready to write him off. Instead, this performance was a reminder of his blend of size (6’3”, 205), explosiveness, and ball-tracking ability that makes him a legitimate NFL-caliber receiver. With TCU breaking in new weapons after losing three WRs to the league, McAlister has a chance to solidify himself as the guy in this offense moving forward.
👉 C2C Takeaway: McAlister’s breakout resets his trajectory — he’s back on track as both a CFF play and long-term NFL prospect. If he sustains anywhere close to this volume, he’s an every-week starter.
WR Isaiah Sategna, Oklahoma
Isaiah Sategna’s breakout has been a long time coming. A former Arkansas Razorback who never found his footing in Fayetteville, Sategna looks reborn in Oklahoma’s offense. Over the past two weeks, he’s posted back-to-back career performances: 7 catches for 97 yards vs. Temple and 9 catches for 127 yards and a TD vs. Auburn. The touchdown may have been a little controversial, but the explosiveness wasn’t — Sategna is finally showing why some of us were high on him coming out of high school.
A decorated track and field athlete, Sategna owns elite athletic pedigree with a 10.80 100m, a 21.93 200m, and a long jump over 24 feet. That explosiveness is translating to the field, where he’s proving to be a dangerous option both vertically and after the catch. While his hands and route precision still need polish, his athletic traits are undeniable, and his upside as both a receiver and returner is immense.
👉 C2C Takeaway: Sategna is trending up as a true difference-maker in Oklahoma’s offense. With his profile, he’s not just a short-term CFF play — he’s back on the radar as a potential NFL prospect if this production keeps stacking.
QB Will Hammond, Texas Tech
