🧊 Section 1: Stock Up / Stock Down (Temperature Check)

Tracking player value swings that impact lineups, trades, and long-term outlook.

We’re eight weeks in, and player values are already on the move. Every week brings risers and fallers, but these are the swings that matter most, breakouts you can lean into, and red flags you’ll want to keep an eye on.

Stock Up

QB Marcel Reed, Texas A&M

If you’re not paying attention to what Marcel Reed is doing in College Station, it’s time to start. Reed has quietly played his way into the Heisman conversation — and maybe even into future NFL Draft buzz, which felt impossible just two months ago. Texas A&M sits at 8-0, ranked No. 3 nationally, and Reed has been the engine behind the Aggies’ title push.

Through eight games, he’s totaled 1,972 passing yards, 17 TDs, and 349 rushing yards with six more scores, ranking 19th nationally in total offense. The last two weeks have been pure fireworks:

  • 🏈 vs. Arkansas: 280 pass yds, 3 TD + 55 rush yds, 1 TD

  • 🏈 vs. LSU: 202 pass yds, 2 TD + 108 rush yds, 2 TD ➡ SEC Offensive Player of the Week

His dual-threat efficiency has turned A&M’s offense into one of the most dangerous in the country. Among top Heisman contenders, Reed has more total yardage than Fernando Mendoza, Ty Simpson, or Julian Sayin, and he’s the most explosive on the ground.

Big plays tell the story: Reed already has three runs of 20+ yards (46, 41, 24) and 31 completions of 20+ yards, making him the rare quarterback who can win both through the air and in space. With November matchups looming against Missouri, South Carolina, Samford, and Texas, Reed’s Heisman campaign and his Devy/NFL stock are officially on the rise.

If you’re still thinking of him as just a “college system QB,” it’s time to adjust. Reed’s command, poise, and playmaking have him trending toward legitimate Sunday potential.
