Devy Comebacks: Bounce-Back Candidates on New Rosters in 2025

We all know how fast Devy value can tank. One underwhelming season or a depth chart misread, and suddenly managers are dumping blue-chip talents like they’re radioactive. But 2025 gives us a new cycle and for some players, a new roster, new opportunity, and maybe a new narrative.

In this article, we’re highlighting Devy players who struggled last year but are now set up for a legit bounce-back thanks to a transfer or fresh environment. Whether it's a system fit, weaker competition, or just a clearer runway to playing time, these guys are firmly back on the radar and if your league-mates gave up, it might be the perfect time to cash in.

UCLA QB Nico Iamaleava

No quarterback had a more chaotic offseason than Nico Iamaleava, one that felt more like an NFL trade than a transfer. After Tennessee’s playoff run fizzled out and whispers of NIL disputes started circulating, Nico shocked everyone by flipping to UCLA, while former Bruin Joey Aguilar oddly went the other way to Knoxville. It wasn’t just about the money, Nico reportedly took less, it was about the reset. And honestly, he needed it.

Last year, the flashes were there: the size, the arm, the movement skills. But consistency wasn’t. He struggled against top-tier SEC defenses and never quite took over the offense the way Devy managers hoped. That said, he’s still just 20, and now he’s the unquestioned QB1 in a more wide-open system with a fresh coaching staff. The tools haven’t gone anywhere. This is the year to either get back in or get out because if he puts it all together in Westwood, we’re talking Day 2 draft capital with a ceiling for more. But if the same issues show up? The window might close for good.
