Who is Emanuel Ross?
Ross was a four-star in the composites who attended Red Bank Catholic in New Jersey. Ross was a dual sport athlete who competed in track and field; Ross has a verified 11.56 seconds in the 100-meter dash in 2022. As a Senior, Ross had 29 receptions for 615 yards with 11 touchdowns. Ross held 35 offers and would commit to Stanford before the start of his senior season. Syracuse would overhaul their coaching staff and hire Georgiaโs Defensive Backs coach, Fran Brown. Brown is a tenacious recruiter; one of his priorities was to flip Ross and keep him home in New Jersey. Ross took an official visit to Syracuse on December 8, 2023, and by December 13, 2023, Ross would flip his commitment to Syracuse and be an integral part of Fran Brownโs initial recruiting class.ย
Ross is a good route runner with track speed, and his tape shows his quick burst off the line, and he can create separation late with that speed. I like that Ross understands tempo and can manipulate his speed to win at a young age. Ross is a fluid athlete who can change directions without losing much speed and will sink his hips to drive in and out of his breaks. As a receiver, Ross shows solid hands and can high-point the ball. Ross shows reasonable body control and can adjust to stay in bounds and come down with the football. Ross plays with good contact balance as a runner and will create after the catch, which makes his profile interesting. His vertical routes will be his calling card, but he can be schemed up with short area manufactured targets that will allow him to create after the catch.
