Devy Digest: Monday Musings- Week 4
Andy Pham covers the fourth week of college football, including CFF/C2C Waivers and much more.
Prelude: Our Monday Musings article will wrap up the week that was. We’ll cover stock up, stock down, and some names to watch who might flirt with the devy landscape. We’ll discuss the waiver wire of your C2C leagues, how to structure each player, the allocation you should give to each potential pickup, and the reasoning behind it.
Devy Stock Up ⬆️
LSU QB Garrett Nussmeier (2025)
I’ve hyped him up, had him as my QB1, and made it public since August 2023. I’ve taken a lot of heat for it and will spotlight him and talk my talk. Nuss has looked fantastic all season. Decisive with the ball and easily manipulates defenses. Nuss quickly gets to his third and fourth reads, and his quick processing pre and post-snap gives him an edge on where to go with the ball. One stat that the NFL admires is the pressures-to-sack ratio. On my show, I’ve talked numerous times that the league wants the ball out quickly and gets ahead of the chains. Currently, Nuss has a P2S ratio of 3.4%...just absurd. That isn’t because his offensive line is holding up and blocking for him, either. Nuss is getting the ball out quickly and knowing when to push the ball downfield. Nuss is a first-round talent, enhancing the players around him. He hasn’t leaned on just Kyren Lacy. Aaron Anderson is now becoming a player, Mason Taylor has gotten a spotlight, CJ Daniels has been able to showcase his worth; all of that is because Nuss is elevating the players around him. He’ll continue to do so for the rest of the season.
Devy Stock Down ⬇️
Oklahoma State RB Ollie Gordon (2025)
Gordon is a shell of himself this season. The weight gain has slowed him down, and he hasn’t been good. His athletic upside has always been capped. Will his off-field transgression hurt his evaluation at the next level with the combine and everything that revolves around next spring? I’ve been in the late day two camp and firmly against the first-round buzz we heard this summer. With his slow start to the season, he’s looking more like a day-three draft capital type of player. He’s never been a true threat as a receiver. We profiled him this offseason, and most of his receptions came from behind the line of scrimmage.
Devy Watch 👀
Michigan RB Kalel Mullings (2025)
The converted linebacker has blossomed for the Wolverines. There’s some more explosiveness there as he is returning kicks as well. I’ve questioned his long speed; he broke a long run against the Trojans' defense, which secured a win. Mullins is climbing as a day three back with an upside as a power runner with some wiggle. His biggest flaw will be his receiving profile. He is strictly a runner only and, in passing downs, is on the bench. He’ll need to showcase usage in that department to enhance his stock.
NC State TE Justin Joly (2025)
Joly is a tweener and a move-tight end at the next level. His size will be his concern. We are seeing the NFL use these athletic tight ends in exciting ways. He’ll depend on landing spot at the next level, but Joly has looked like a playmaker and a solid option for the Wolfpack and could become a sneaky, devy tight end option.
