Devy Digest: Monday Musings - Week 7
Andy Pham covers college football Week 7, including CFF/C2C Waivers and much more.
Prelude: Our Monday Musings article will wrap up the week that was. We’ll cover stock up, stock down, and some names to watch who might flirt with the devy landscape. We’ll discuss the waiver wire of your C2C leagues, how to structure each player, the allocation you should give to each potential pickup, and the reasoning behind it.
Devy Stock Up⬆️
Kansas State RB DJ Giddens (2025)
Giddens has turned in a masterful first half of the season and must be talked about as a potential top three at the position for the NFL Draft. Giddens is a powerful runner and showcases good footwork and vision. Giddens has the lateral quickness and contact balance to make defenders miss in the open field. Giddens displays soft hands and is a three-down back at the next level. The overall positional value is depressed, but Giddens has a chance to be a top back should he declare for the NFL Draft. With another year of eligibility, another year could catapult him as the RB1 of the 2026 class.
Washington WR Giles Jackson (2025)
Jackson is turning in a good season and showcasing his ability for the next level. Jackson can win at all three levels and has been the safety this season. The twitchy, undersized slot receiver can make a case for being a top-five slot receiver come next spring. Late production is frowned upon, and he did have to wait until the room cleared out at Washington and under a new staff member to find his way, but Jackson is looking fantastic in playing the Jacob Cowing role for Jedd Fisch. I would not be surprised if he is a Senior Bowl invitee and flirts with late day two or early day three NFL draft capital with the tape he is putting out there.
Devy Stock Down⬇️
Texas RB Jaydon Blue (2025)
Blue has struggled all year to take over in the backfield for Texas. Blue was expected to have a breakout year, but it’s been disappointing. He’d been getting outworked by true freshman Jerrick Gibson, but this past weekend in the Red River Rivalry, he was outshined by Tre Wisner. Wisner was an afterthought at the beginning of fall camp and became the most productive player in the backfield. Blue shows he’s just a space back who is a complementary piece, not the all-around back people hoped for.
Ohio State WR Carnell Tate (2026)
All offseason, we told you to sell Tate. Tate was never going to be the alpha in the room. Emeka Egbuka will always command targets, and Jeremiah Smith is a better prospect and player. If you moved off him in the offseason, congrats, you avoided a landmine. Tate, at best, will play second fiddle throughout his entire career at Ohio State. That isn’t bad, but at the cost of acquiring him, you’ll never see a return on investment.
LSU RB Kaleb Jackson (2026)
Jackson ate his way out of the starting job and, after this weekend, might have eaten his way out of the rotation. Jackson looks slow and sluggish. The added weight has been an anchor on his speed and physicality. With a talented running back committed to the 2025 class, one has to wonder if Jackson ate his way out of Baton Rouge.
Devy Watch
Texas WR DeAndre Moore (2026)
Moore is finding his way in this offense, this time with Quinn Ewers under center. Moore is an exciting player. He did nothing as a true freshman but has the coaching staff's trust and plays meaningful snaps. Moore could end up being one of those late-developing players. Moore has the profile and athletic traits; it’s nice to see him putting games together.
USC RB Quinten Joyner (2026)
Joyner was a player that received some buzz last year but didn’t find his footing. This year has been slow, but with an impressive showing, the opportunities should increase for him with the second half of the season in front of him. At worst, he should be rotating in for Woody Marks and has earned himself a role in the offense.
