Hidden Gems: 5 Undervalued Devy Assets In Devy Drafts
Kevin looks at five devy assets that are being undervalued in drafts!
Every year in devy leagues, there are players who slip through the cracks—whether due to a down season, injuries, or simply being overshadowed by bigger names. But savvy managers know that value can be found in the later rounds, where talent is still waiting to be unearthed.
In this article, I’ll break down five undervalued devy assets, all with an ADP of the fourth round or later, who have the potential to bounce back and outproduce their current draft cost. For the purpose of this article we will just be discussing current college players no incoming freshman. Whether it’s a former five-star recruit looking to reestablish himself, an overlooked breakout candidate, or a player returning from injury, these hidden gems could become key pieces for your devy squad. Let’s dive in.

Houston QB Conner Weigman (Class of 2026)
Bounce-Back from Injury/New Team Breakout
Conner Weigman has a fresh start in Houston, and with it comes a real shot at redemption. Injuries derailed his time at Texas A&M, but when he was healthy, the flashes were undeniable—averaging 300 passing yards per game and completing over 70% of his throws before his foot injury in 2023. The talent is still there, and now he’s back home, playing for a staff that believes in him.
Weigman’s decision to transfer was about finding stability. His foot injury was brutal—breaking his talus bone in nine places—but he battled back, only to suffer a shoulder injury in his first game of 2024. Instead of sitting out and fully healing, he tried to push through, which led to mechanical issues and ultimately cost him his starting job. With a full offseason to get right, he's slimmed down and focused on getting back to the playmaker he was in high school—a dynamic passer with plus athleticism who can extend plays and make throws off-platform.
Houston might not be the flashiest destination, but it’s the right fit. Willie Fritz’s offense should give Weigman the freedom to make plays, and with a supporting cast that includes Amare Thomas, Harvey Broussard III, and Stephon Johnson, he’ll have weapons to work with. The Cougars struggled in the passing game last season, ranking 126th nationally, so Weigman has a prime opportunity to step in and elevate this team.
For devy managers, he’s an easy buy at his current price. He’s a former five-star recruit with a strong lower body that fuels his deep ball and running ability. His high school production (nearly 9,000 passing yards, 2,000 rushing yards) speaks to his ability to create offense in multiple ways. If he stays healthy and delivers this season, he could work his way back into the conversation among the top quarterbacks in his class. Given his current ADP, the risk is low, but the upside remains high.
Miami WR JoJo Trader (Class of 2027)
Sophomore Year Breakout
JoJo Trader is the perfect post-hype devy buy right now. A year ago, he was a highly touted recruit with all the tools to be a future WR1, but injuries and a veteran-heavy Miami offense limited his freshman season. Now, with the Hurricanes losing their top four wideouts to the NFL and the transfer portal, Trader has a massive opportunity to emerge as the go-to playmaker in 2025.
Even in limited action last year, he showed flashes—most notably in the Pop-Tarts Bowl when he stepped up with three catches for 61 yards and a touchdown. That game was a reminder of what he brings to the table: elite ball-tracking skills, acrobatic grabs, and the ability to shift gears to create separation. He’s not the biggest receiver, but he plays bigger than his frame, attacking the football in the air and making defenders miss in the open field.
Miami’s receiver depth chart is wide open, and early spring reports indicate Trader is in line for a major role. He’s already the highest-rated receiver on the roster per 247Sports and will likely be the top returning target in the offense. With a year in the strength and conditioning program and a full offseason to develop chemistry with his quarterback, he’s primed for a breakout.
The buy window won’t stay open for long. Devy managers who invest now could be looking at a dynamic playmaker poised to take off in 2025.
Ohio State WR Mylan Graham (Class of 2026)
