Week 6 is here, and at this point, we have enough data to start trusting some of these trends a little more. Injuries, usage, depth-chart movement, weather, and changing roles are giving us a much clearer picture of which dynasty storylines actually matter and which ones may have just been early-season noise.
The goal of The Sunday Fantasy Brief stays the same: get you caught up quickly on what matters most before kickoff. No overreaction, no chasing one-week box scores, just the key news, dynasty implications, and situations I’ll be watching throughout the day.
The Lead Story
Is Jordan Love for real?' Week 5 was the best Love has looked all season, and it came at exactly the right time. Love completed 28 of 31 passes for 367 yards and two touchdowns against Chicago, finishing with a 137.5 passer rating while averaging 11.8 yards per attempt. It was easily his most efficient performance of the year, and it pushed him back into the QB1 conversation heading into Week 6.
The bigger question is whether this was just a soft matchup or the beginning of something sustainable.
There are reasons to believe the arrow is pointing up. Green Bay’s offensive line has played much better over the last two weeks, and Love has faced significantly less pressure after a rough opening stretch. That matters because when Love has time, the offense looks completely different. He has already topped 300 passing yards three times this season and now sits at 1,408 yards with 10 touchdowns and only three interceptions through five games.
The weapons are starting to help too. Christian Watson and Matthew Golden give Love legitimate downfield options, Tucker Kraft has emerged as a reliable target, and if MarShawn Lloyd continues to settle into the backfield, the entire offense should become more balanced.
Now he gets Dallas.
The Cowboys have been one of the best matchups for opposing quarterbacks, allowing more than 20 fantasy points per game at the position while struggling to generate consistent pressure. This game also carries one of the highest projected totals of the week, which gives Love another chance to keep the volume high.
What I’m watching: Can Love stay aggressive without turning the ball over, and can this improved pass protection hold up for another week? If he delivers another strong performance here, especially against a defense that has consistently given up big quarterback games, I think we have to start treating Love as more than just a matchup-based starter. He may be settling back into the top-five fantasy quarterback conversation.
🚑 Injury Watch
Week 6 has a pretty busy injury slate, but a lot of the important situations have started to clear up.
Sunday Morning — London
David Montgomery, RB, Texans
Montgomery is doubtful, which should push Woody Marks firmly into RB2 territory against Jacksonville. The matchup is not ideal, but the volume should be there. Pasted text
Tank Dell / Marvin Harrison Jr., WR, Texans
Dell’s practice window is open and he practiced in full Wednesday, but Houston also just added Marvin Harrison Jr. This is probably a situation to watch rather than force into lineups immediately. Nico Collins remains the clear WR1, while Dell and Harrison are more wait-and-see options until we know exactly how Houston plans to use them.
