Welcome to The TDR Market Report, our weekly look at the biggest value shifts across dynasty and devy. Every week, we’ll cut through the noise and focus on the players whose stock is actually moving, whether that means a breakout pushing someone up the board, a disappointing performance creating a buying window, or a market reaction that has gone too far.
The goal here is simple: identify what changed, decide whether it matters, and figure out how we should react before the rest of the market catches up.
Dynasty Market
We are getting deep enough into the season now that these dynasty shifts are becoming harder to ignore. Roles are established, production is starting to stabilize, and the market is finally reacting to what players are actually doing instead of what we expected them to do in August.
There is still plenty of season left, but this is the point where real risers and fallers start separating themselves. The goal now is figuring out which moves are sustainable and which ones are still worth fading.
Denver Broncos QB Bo Nix
Kevin: This is exactly why I was selling Bo Nix last offseason.
Denver is 4-2, so from the outside everything looks fine. But if you actually watch the offense and dig into the numbers, Nix has been one of the biggest quarterback disappointments of the season. Against Seattle, he completed 17 of 27 passes for just 107 yards, with no touchdowns and basically no rushing production.
The bigger concern is that this is not just one bad game. Nix currently ranks at or near the bottom of the league in several efficiency metrics, and the offense has become incredibly conservative. He is averaging just 5.2 intended air yards per attempt, and the rushing floor that helped his fantasy value early in his career has disappeared too. Through six games, he has just 37 rushing yards.
That matters a lot for dynasty. If Nix is not creating with his legs and is also refusing or unable to push the ball downfield, the fantasy ceiling gets capped really fast. Could some of this be tied to the ankle injury or the offense being out of sync? Sure. And I am not saying Denver is about to bench him. But I also do not think this is the kind of dip I want to buy.
If you sold last offseason when he was being valued like a top-10 dynasty quarterback, you probably feel pretty good right now. And if someone in your league still wants to pay close to that old price, I would be listening.
Christian: I’m not going to sugarcoat it: camp buzz suggested Nix had taken a massive leap forward, and I bought in a bit. Everyone was raving about his ability to push the ball downfield, and clips showed that off. For whatever reason, he’s been entirely unwilling to do that through the first chunk of this season. That said, I’m not entirely out on Nix as a dynasty asset. I tend to value stability when evaluating dynasty quarterback value, and I’m not sold on the Broncos moving on from him in the next few years. That makes things a bit tricky, as my eyes are telling me he’s nothing more than a quarterback that keeps the team in purgatory, while the talent suggests there’s just more on the bone. Unfortunately, the unwillingness to push the ball into the deeper areas of the field will always limit his ceiling, and the lack of rushing makes him a formerly overvalued asset. If you held or bought when the market was way off (while I believe in him, viewing him as a top-10 dynasty quarterback was crazy), you’re probably better off continuing to hold. If you sold during the peak, you likely cashed in, as this might be what Nix is for the long term.
