Welcome to The TDR Market Report, our weekly look at the biggest value shifts across dynasty and devy. Every week, we’ll cut through the noise and focus on the players whose stock is actually moving, whether that means a breakout pushing someone up the board, a disappointing performance creating a buying window, or a market reaction that has gone too far.

The goal here is simple: identify what changed, decide whether it matters, and figure out how we should react before the rest of the market catches up.

Dynasty Market

We are getting deep enough into the season now that these dynasty shifts are becoming harder to ignore. Roles are established, production is starting to stabilize, and the market is finally reacting to what players are actually doing instead of what we expected them to do in August.

There is still plenty of season left, but this is the point where real risers and fallers start separating themselves. The goal now is figuring out which moves are sustainable and which ones are still worth fading.

Chicago Bears WR Luther Burden

Kevin: We loved Burden here at TDR when he was still going in the second round of rookie drafts two years ago, and I think we are finally seeing that payoff.

Through seven games, Burden has 35 catches on 43 targets for 491 yards and two touchdowns, and the underlying usage is just as encouraging. He is sitting around a 20.7% target share, has been extremely efficient on a per-route basis, and more than half of his production has come after the catch. That is exactly the type of player he was at Missouri.

What I like most is that I think Burden is the alpha in this receiving room. Rome Odunze is obviously talented, but Burden feels like the guy who can dictate coverage and become the focal point of the offense because of how many different ways he can win. He can separate, create after the catch, and still give you enough downfield juice to keep defenses honest.

The dynasty market has caught up some, but I still like him at his current price. If he is being valued as more of a high-end WR2 than a true dynasty WR1, I am buying. I think there is still room for his value to climb. This is one of those situations where I would rather pay a little more now for a player I believe is becoming an alpha than wait until the breakout is completely priced in.

Christian: A broadcast let it slip that Ryan Poles privately told folks that he believed Burden would be better than Rome Odunze and DJ Moore when he drafted him, and we’re finally seeing that come to fruition. When Moore was in the building, there was some role uncertainty for Burden, but upon his departure, it’s very clear how the Bears prefer to use the young wideout: as the No. 1, go-to guy. I think it speaks to Ben Johnson and Caleb Williams’s leadership to get this level of productivity out of a guy who was disengaged during his final college year, and his managers are eating it up. The best part is that if you drafted Burden in rookie drafts, you likely got him at a significant discount relative to his talent. Candidly, I moved Burden way up in my rankings over the summer in anticipation of this, and he’s been sitting at WR8 for me since then. Safe to say, I’m buying.
