Dynasty

We’re officially in the dry spell. News is light, timelines are quiet, and most fantasy managers are either completely tuned out or grasping at any tweet like it’s gospel. This is the time when sharp managers consolidate rosters, trim the fat, and start building out their core lineups for the season ahead. We’ll monitor any relevant news drops as they happen, but don’t expect a flood of movement right now. That said, we did get a few notable headlines this week.

Nick Chubb Signs with the Texans

Former Browns All-Pro Nick Chubb has found a new home, signing a one-year deal with the Houston Texans. It’s a fresh start after a brutal stretch of injuries that included a torn ACL, MCL, meniscus, and a broken foot, but Chubb has reportedly passed his physical and will be at mandatory minicamp with Houston.

Here’s the thing: Chubb is no longer the Chubb of old. In his 2024 return, he managed just 3.3 yards per carry, looked noticeably less explosive, and didn’t record a single 20+ yard run. But context matters. Cleveland’s offensive line was a mess last season, and nearly half of his carries came with defenders in the backfield.

He now lands in Houston behind Joe Mixon, who just made a Pro Bowl season with over 1,300 scrimmage yards and 12 touchdowns. While Mixon has been spotted in a walking boot this offseason, all signs point to him being ready for training camp. So let’s not overreact; this is still his backfield. Chubb’s signing looks more like insurance than a true committee threat, especially given the wear on his body and the Texans’ need for depth.

Short-yardage work? Sure, Chubb might get a piece. He’s a strong bet to vulture a few red zone carries if Mixon misses time again. But don’t expect a big dent in Mixon’s passing game role or workload when healthy.

Dynasty Takeaway:
I’m not adjusting much here. Mixon still projects as a volume-dependent RB2 with low-end RB1 upside if things break right. His receiving profile keeps him slightly insulated. If anything, this news gives me more confidence to hold Mixon at his current price. Chubb? If you’ve still got him stashed and someone believes he’s “back,” I’d explore a sell. His role will be limited unless injury strikes, and this is likely his last shot at meaningful value.

Recent 12-Team Superflex Trades Involving Nick Chubb:

  • Nick Chubb for 2026 3rd

  • Nick Chubb for Jaleel McLaughlin/3.02

  • Nick Chubb/Danie Jones for Zach Charbonnet

  • Nick Chubb for Isaac Guerendo

  • Nick Chubb for Tyler Allgeier

The Chargers WR Room Is Officially Open for Business

This isn’t breaking news, but it’s definitely worth putting on your radar. The Chargers’ wide receiver room looks nothing like it did a year ago, and OC Greg Roman has been vocal about the growth he's seeing. This group is night and day compared to 2024, and it’s time to start viewing it through a dynasty lens.

We already know Ladd McConkey is that dude. He led the team in receptions, yards, and touchdowns as a rookie and showed an elite football IQ. Roman even called the stuff they did with him "graduate-level." The exciting part? Rather than locking him into the slot, they plan to move him around the formation more this year. That flexibility should make him even harder to scheme against and gives him a solid floor regardless of coverage.

But the real dynasty juice is Tre Harris. He’s someone I’ve been stashing in rookie drafts and grabbing late in startups, and it’s starting to look like we’re going to see that investment pay off early. He’s already making noise in camp, and if he builds momentum into training camp, he could very well be the WR2 in this offense by the time they kick off in Brazil.

We’re talking about a wide-open room beyond Ladd. Mike Williams is coming off another injury. Quentin Johnston is still trying to find consistency. And while the team brought in KeAndre Lambert-Smith and others, none of them profile with the combination of physicality and polish that Harris has flashed already. If he keeps stacking practices, it won’t take long for him to leapfrog the depth chart.

And let’s not forget the QB situation, Harris will be catching passes from Justin Herbert, who was one of the most accurate deep-ball throwers in the league last season without a legit downfield weapon. If Harris carves out a field-stretching role, his dynasty stock could skyrocket. He’s the type of player who could post top-20 deep receiving yardage numbers if he clicks with Herbert.

Dynasty Takeaway:
McConkey remains a strong WR2 with weekly upside, especially in full PPR formats, and the movement-based role only helps. Tre Harris, though, is the sneaky dynasty play here. His value is still palatable, but the buzz is building. Get in now before training camp clips and preseason hype hit the timeline. He could be a top-3 riser among rookie wideouts by mid-August.

Recent 12-Team Superflex Trades Involving Tre Harris:

  • Tre Harris/Jaydon Blue for Chase Brown

  • Tre Harris for Michael Pittman

  • Tre Harris/Quinshon Judkins for Bucky Irving

  • Tre Harris/2026 2nd for Jaylen Waddle

  • Tre Harris for Josh Downs

Aaron Rodgers Signs With Pittsburgh

Aaron Rodgers is back for Year 21, this time in black and gold. He inked a one-year deal with the Steelers, and while that likely locks him in as the Week 1 starter, this isn’t the kind of move that should shake up your dynasty roster. The resume? Sure, it speaks for itself: four MVPs, over 500 touchdowns, nearly 63,000 passing yards, and a spot waiting for him in Canton. But that version of Rodgers isn’t walking through the door.

The reality is we’ve already seen signs of the decline. Last season with the Jets was rough. He looked slower, less accurate, and far less capable of creating outside of structure. The exact stuff that made him elite in his prime. His 28 touchdowns came with 11 interceptions, and the overall efficiency just wasn’t there, even with legit weapons like Garrett Wilson and Davante Adams.

Now he heads to Pittsburgh to run Arthur Smith’s offense. The good news? Smith has a history of scheming up deep shots off play-action, and Rodgers can still connect on a few of those. The better news? DK Metcalf could be the biggest benefactor. Rodgers loves timing-based routes, and Metcalf has the vertical speed and size to win on deep digs, slants, and go balls. He’s a solid WR2/Flex with some weekly boom potential.

But beyond that? Meh. Pat Freiermuth is a fine TE2 you can stream in the right matchups, but he’s not someone I’m excited about long-term. The running back room is murky. Jaylen Warren is efficient but undersized, and Kaleb Johnson is still a rookie. Rodgers isn’t going to elevate this offense to elite status. He might stabilize it, but that’s about it.

Dynasty Takeaway:
This is probably the final window you’ll have to move off Rodgers and still get anything of real value. If someone in your league is buying into the name, I’d sell now. Metcalf remains a buy. He’s still young, athletic, and at least has some quarterback stability, but I’m not going out of my way to invest in this offense overall. There are too many question marks and not enough upside.

Recent 12-Team Superflex Trades Involving Aaron Rodgers:

  • Aaron Rodgers for Ben Sinnott

  • Aaron Rodgers for 3.02

  • Aaron Rodgers for 2026 3rd

  • Aaron Rodgers for Jacory Croskey-Meritt/Javonte Williams

  • Aaron Rodgers for Daniel Jones

J.K. Dobbins Signs with Denver

The Broncos made a late-offseason splash by signing former Chargers running back J.K. Dobbins to a one-year, $5.25 million deal. That’s not just a flyer. That’s a commitment. And after Dobbins put together 905 rushing yards and nine touchdowns last season, Denver clearly sees him as more than just depth. But in dynasty, the player you still want to bet on long-term is RJ Harvey.

Here’s the thing, though, this is exactly why I was worried about Harvey’s rookie draft price post-NFL Draft. He was consistently going in the mid-to-late first round of rookie drafts, and it felt a little rich for a guy without guaranteed volume in year one. Dobbins signing in Denver doesn’t tank Harvey’s long-term outlook, but it does cloud that short-term workload projection that was inflating his value.

Back to Dobbins. He’s been through it: torn ACL, LCL, meniscus, and an Achilles. That injury history is brutal. He did bounce back in 2024, but even then, he didn’t look like the same explosive runner we saw back in 2020. He also hasn’t been used much in the passing game despite being a solid receiver at Ohio State. He’s likely a 150-180 touch guy with goal-line usage if he holds up, but that’s a big “if.”

This backfield needed depth. Javonte Williams is gone, McLaughlin is undersized, Estime is a work-in-progress, so Dobbins gives them a veteran body. But Harvey is still the long-term bet. He rushed for 1,400+ yards in back-to-back seasons at UCF, has real burst, and went No. 60 overall in the NFL Draft. The talent is there. It just might take a little longer for the workload to follow.

Dynasty Takeaway:
Harvey’s still the back to roster in dynasty, but this signing adds risk to his early-year production. If you're a believer, now might be the perfect time to send out offers. His value likely dipped a bit, and you could buy low. On the flip side, if someone’s still viewing Dobbins like he’s a plug-and-play RB3, I’d flip him for anything close to that. He’s never had a 200-carry season and hasn’t made it through a full season since 2020. This is a classic veteran band-aid move, not a long-term shift in the backfield pecking order.
