Top 5 Dynasty Assets Traded In March
Kevin looks at the five most traded assets in the dynasty format through the month of February!
March is a pivotal month in the dynasty offseason, as free agency shakes up player values and draft speculation intensifies. With the NFL Combine in the rearview mirror and pro days underway, dynasty managers are actively reshaping their rosters, leading to an uptick in trade activity. This time of year is crucial for capitalizing on shifting market dynamics before rookie drafts fully take center stage.
Using data from FantasyCalc and Dynasty Daddy, we’ve identified the five most traded assets in dynasty leagues this month. In this article, we’ll break down each player, analyzing their value, recent trades, and what their movement tells us about the current market. With free agency fueling speculation and rookie fever setting in, here are the five players generating the most buzz in dynasty leagues this March.
New York Jets QB Justin Fields
Fields has had a rollercoaster of a career. After three seasons with the Bears, where he flashed elite rushing upside but struggled as a passer, he was shipped off to Pittsburgh. He started hot for the Steelers in 2024, going 4-2 while posting solid numbers (1,106 passing yards, 289 rushing yards, 10 total TDs, 1 turnover), only to be benched in favor of Russell Wilson. Now, he finds himself with the Jets, looking to establish himself as a long-term starter.
There’s no doubt Fields has fantasy relevance when he’s on the field—his rushing ability alone makes him a borderline QB1. The concern is that the Jets are a volatile organization, and Fields’ long-term job security is far from guaranteed. However, given the lack of immediate competition in New York, he should have every opportunity to prove himself.
Dynasty managers should hold Fields and wait for a potential value spike. If he starts the season well, flipping him for a more stable asset could be the move. But for now, patience is key.
Verdict: Hold

Pittsburgh Steelers WR DK Metcalf
Metcalf has been a dominant force since entering the league, racking up over 6,300 receiving yards and 48 TDs in six seasons. However, his weekly production has always been volatile, and he failed to record a 100-yard game after Week 4 last season.
Now in Pittsburgh, Metcalf is the clear WR1, backed by a massive five-year, $150 million extension. The Steelers have made it clear he’s a cornerstone of their offense, but the major unknown remains: Who’s throwing him the football? Pittsburgh has been linked to short-term solutions like Aaron Rodgers or Kirk Cousins, which doesn’t inspire confidence for long-term dynasty value. However, elite talent tends to overcome shaky QB play, and Metcalf's ADP should rebound quickly. There is also the George Pickens issue, but I don’t think that hurts Metcalf’s upside. I think the Steelers could actually move on from Pickens after this year.
If the market is hesitant, this is a good time to buy. His contract ensures he'll be a focal point in Pittsburgh’s offense, and his talent is undeniable. Just proceed with caution, as uncertainty at QB could create short-term turbulence.
Verdict: Buy Cautiously

Los Angeles Chargers RB Najee Harris
Harris has been the definition of consistency, rushing for over 1,000 yards in each of his first four seasons while maintaining a steady workload. However, his efficiency (3.9 YPC career average) has left much to be desired, and he hasn’t been a dominant receiving back (180 catches for 1,149 yards in four years).
Now, Harris lands with the Chargers on a one-year “prove it” deal worth up to $9.25 million. With JK Dobbins unlikely to return and Gus Edwards already cut, Harris is in line for a significant workload. The Chargers could still add competition in the draft, but for now, Harris looks like the lead back in an offense that should provide solid goal-line opportunities.
For contenders, Harris is a solid buy at the right price. He should put up strong RB2 numbers with some touchdown upside. For rebuilding teams, he’s a hold for now—if he has a strong start to the season, selling high to a contender could be the move.
Verdict: Hold/Buy (Contenders)
