May marks a transitional phase in the dynasty offseason. With rookie drafts wrapping up, managers are beginning to shift their focus toward building out rosters for August and making final moves to position themselves as contenders. This period often reveals who’s pushing chips in and who’s setting up for a longer-term build, leading to another wave of trade activity across leagues.

Using data from FantasyCalc and Dynasty Daddy, we’ve identified the five most traded assets in dynasty leagues this month. In this article, we’ll break down each player, analyze their value, highlight recent trades, and explore what their movement says about the current market. With rookie hype still lingering and managers reshuffling post-draft, here are the five players generating the most buzz in dynasty leagues this May.

Dallas Cowboys WR George Pickens

Pickens is a tough asset to pin down, and how you handle him really depends on the temperature of your specific league. He’s one of those players where buying, selling, or holding could all make sense depending on the context. Personally, I lean toward holding unless someone’s overpaying or panicking.

Last year was a mixed bag. Pickens technically improved his target share, jumping from 19.3% to 22.9%, but the offense around him, led by Arthur Smith, wasn’t exactly built to support wide receiver production. Pittsburgh’s receivers saw the fewest targets of any team, and Pickens still managed a top-30 finish the year prior. That says something about the talent.

Now he lands in Dallas with a quarterback in Dak Prescott who has a history of sustaining two fantasy-relevant wideouts. Brandin Cooks is out, taking 50 targets with him, and the depth chart behind CeeDee Lamb is full of question marks. Pickens immediately steps into a clear X-receiver role, something this offense has been missing. He brings physicality, vertical juice, and can win consistently against man coverage, ranking fourth in yards per route run vs. man over the last two seasons, trailing only Collins, Lamb, and A.J. Brown.

We’re not crowning him a WR1, but if engaged and used properly, he fits what Dallas needs on the boundary. Long term, I think he’s a low-end WR2 type player who will stick around and possibly earn another deal in Dallas. He’s probably not a difference-maker week to week, but he’s a usable asset who could gain value fast if Dak clicks with him early.

In short, unless your league’s market is irrational in either direction, Pickens is best held and monitored as the season approaches.

Verdict: Hold

New York Jets WR Garrett Wilson

If there’s ever a time to try and buy into Garrett Wilson, it’s now. He’s still one of the most talented wideouts in the league, and while his situation isn’t ideal, his value is more palatable than it’s been in the past. If you can land him for a mid-to-late 2025 first, that’s a move I’m making every time.

Despite the mess that has been the Jets’ offense the past few years, Wilson has continued to command volume. He’s top four in total targets over the last three seasons and has done it while playing with subpar quarterback play and in one of the league’s least efficient passing attacks. Even last season, when Aaron Rodgers went down and the team dialed back the passing volume, Wilson posted career highs in receptions, yards, and touchdowns. That’s not by accident; the guy can flat-out play.

Now he’ll be catching passes from Justin Fields, his former college quarterback. While Fields isn’t known for being the most polished passer, he did make DJ Moore relevant in his 2023 season. Wilson’s familiarity with Fields going back to their Ohio State days is a bonus, and even if the offense stays conservative, Wilson should dominate the target share. The only real competition for volume is Breece Hall, and that’s more out of the backfield than downfield.

The Jets added some depth pieces, Josh Reynolds, Tyler Johnson, and a couple of rookies, but nobody who’s a real threat to Wilson’s workload. Even if New York were to bring in a true WR2, Wilson's target ceiling remains high. He’s firmly entrenched as the alpha in this offense.

You don’t need him to be a top-five wideout for him to return value at current prices. He’s a rock-solid WR2 with WR1 upside if things click, and that makes him a smart buy heading into the summer.

Verdict: Buy

Chicago RB D’Andre Swift

Swift remains one of the trickier backs to project heading into the 2025 season. His fantasy value has always hinged on role and efficiency, and that remains true with the Bears. He’s shown flashes in the past, but the situation in Chicago feels fragile at best.

The main appeal with Swift right now is volume. The Bears haven’t made any big additions to the backfield outside of seventh-rounder Kyle Monangai, and Roschon Johnson is still the primary competition for touches. That could point to Swift getting the majority of the work, but it feels like that leash is short.

Enter Ben Johnson. While the coaching hire is a win for the Bears overall, it might not be for Swift. The last time these two were paired up in Detroit, Swift was relegated to a change-of-pace role behind Jamaal Williams. Johnson has preferred bigger backs to handle the bulk of the work, and there were plenty of whispers this offseason that Chicago tried to move up for a running back in the draft. Names like Ashton Jeanty and TreVeyon Henderson were linked to them. There's also the possibility of a late signing or trade, with guys like Nick Chubb, Rachaad White, or even Jamaal Williams floating out there.

Swift will have to prove he can hold off not only Roschon but also any additions the Bears make between now and September. If nothing changes, sure, he could carve out RB2 production on volume alone behind a revamped offensive line. But betting on that stability feels risky. All it takes is one move, a signing, a trade, or even a shift in the rotation, and his value could crater.

If you're holding Swift, you're betting on pure opportunity. But the floor is low, and the Bears' actions suggest they aren't married to him long-term. I’m selling before the bottom drops out if I can get out now.

Verdict: Sell
