Unrostered and Undervalued: Deep Dynasty Adds You Can Make Right Now
Kevin goes waiver wire hunting in your dynasty leagues to look for value!
Let’s be honest, dynasty waiver wires aren’t exactly overflowing with talent. But every now and then, you’ll find a player who quietly gains value, whether through camp buzz, an injury ahead of them, or simply a path to playing time that others haven’t noticed yet.
In this article, we’re dumpster diving, digging through players rostered in under 50% of dynasty leagues to identify stashes with potential value growth. These aren't league winners, but they’re the kinds of players who could turn into usable depth, trade bait, or future contributors with the right break.
We’ll break it down by position and highlight a few names who should be on your radar right now. In deep formats, it's all about being one step ahead.
Quarterback
There aren’t many quarterbacks worth adding in Superflex leagues — most of the usable ones are already rostered. But there are still a couple of names who could be available on your waiver wire, and in deep formats, any potential starter or value riser is worth a look.
Tyrod Taylor (32% Rostered)
This one’s all about insurance. With Justin Fields already nursing a dislocated toe, there’s a non-zero chance Tyrod Taylor sees the field this season. With Fields play style we could see him get injured again. The Jets are already backing Taylor publicly, with the coaching staff noting there’s not much of a drop-off in terms of what they want to do offensively.
Taylor has been one of the league’s more experienced backups, with 58 career starts under his belt. He’s aggressive, mobile, and honestly plays with zero fear — which is good for fantasy (when he’s upright). The downside? He’s struggled to stay healthy over the years.
In Superflex formats, this is a cheap bet on opportunity. If you have Fields and haven’t made the move yet, he should be a priority add. Even if you don’t, stashing Taylor now could pay off if Fields ends up missing time this season.
Stetson Bennett (8% Rostered)
Look, Stetson Bennett’s name still gets a few laughs in fantasy circles but he’s doing everything right in Rams camp. With Matthew Stafford sidelined by a back injury and Jimmy Garoppolo always a durability concern, Bennett’s trending toward being the next man up.
Reports say he’s bulked up, showing command of the offense, and flashing solid chemistry with guys like Jordan Whittington and Davis Allen. The Rams clearly trust him, and he’s not playing like someone just holding a clipboard.
You’re not adding Bennett expecting him to be the next Brock Purdy but if you’re in a Superflex league, he’s a dirt-cheap stash with a real shot at meaningful snaps this year. Opportunity, familiarity with the system, and possibly a real chance to get some starts this season if Stafford cant stay healthy.
Running Back
This is the position to constantly churn and monitor. Injuries are already piling up across the league, and we know how quickly things can change for backup backs. If you can be proactive here instead of reactive, you’ll give yourself a competitive edge — whether that’s as a short-term plug-in or a longer-term stash.
