Predicting Dynasty Tier Jumps: RBs Poised to Climb in 2025
A look at five running backs who could climb dynasty rankings in 2025 and become more valuable assets on your roster.
Navigating the running back landscape in dynasty can be tricky. It’s easy to get tunnel vision on rookie backs because of their projected roles and clean slates — but that mindset can lead to missing out on value from returning veterans and post-hype breakouts. In this article, we’re looking at running backs who could make a legitimate tier jump in 2025. To keep things balanced and avoid a rookie-only focus, we’ll be limiting this list to just two first-year players. The rest are guys who could rise due to opportunity shifts, depth chart changes, or just being overlooked in dynasty circles. These are the backs worth betting on before their price goes up.
Predicting Dynasty Tier Jumps: QBs Poised to Climb in 2025
In dynasty, it’s not just about acquiring elite talent — it’s about identifying who’s about to level up before the rest of your league catches on. This article kicks off a series where we highlight players from each position who are poised to jump tiers during the 2025 season. We’re not just chasing top-5 upside — we’re focusing on realistic movement within positional rankings that can boost your roster value and give you an edge. Today, we’re diving into the quarterback position and identifying four QBs who could see a significant rise in dynasty value this year. Whether it’s due to improved situation, growth in their game, or a clearer path to job security, these are the names to watch.
Breece Hall, RB – New York Jets
Current KTC Rank: RB9
Projected Tier Jump: Top 5
I’m not out on Breece Hall, not even close. Yes, 2024 was a step back, and there’s legit concern with a new coaching staff talking up a committee. But in dynasty, this is exactly where you find value. Hall’s being priced like a mid-RB1 or even a front-end RB2 in some leagues, and that feels like an overcorrection.
Let’s talk context. The Jets had the fewest rushing attempts in the league last year and were somehow dead last in goal-line carries for the second season in a row. Despite that, Hall still posted a top-10 snap share and was top-five in receiving yards per game among RBs. He also led all running backs in targets and finished RB17 in fantasy points per game, on a dysfunctional offense.
Now he gets Justin Fields, whose scrambling and checkdown tendencies should open up running lanes and create easier receiving work. Sure, the team has Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis, and new coach Aaron Glenn is preaching balance. But let’s not pretend either rookie is taking Hall’s job if he’s healthy. This is still one of the most explosive dual-threat RBs in the league when he’s right.
Hall ranked fourth in yards after contact per attempt since 2022 and saw the sixth-highest inside-the-five carry share last season. He’s only 23, entering a contract year, and still has elite traits. Yes, the knee needs to hold up, but if it does, Hall is one of the few backs in dynasty who can still be a true top-five difference-maker.
The market has cooled on him, which makes now a rare buying window. If he bounces back, this will look like a massive miss for anyone who sold low.

TreVeyon Henderson, RB – New England Patriots
Current KTC Rank: RB8
Projected Tier Jump: Top 5
I’ve believed in TreVeyon Henderson for a long time, and I’m not jumping off now, especially after a strong draft capital investment and an ideal landing spot. Out of all the rookies, Henderson was the one I had to include in this list. He’s always had the traits of a three-down back, and New England might finally give him the chance to prove it.
What stands out most about Henderson is the way he operates in space. He’s one of the fastest backs in recent memory, and he’s lethal when working in gap schemes — something that should mesh well with the Patriots’ blocking concepts. His 96.3 career grade on gap runs vs. 85.7 on zone plays shows that clearly. When the situation is right, he can absolutely pop.
Yes, the backfield is crowded. Rhamondre Stevenson is still there, but he’s taken a step back as a pass protector and struggled with fumbles early last year. Antonio Gibson is a factor in passing downs, but Henderson’s skill set fits the McDaniels offense like a glove. He’s a better receiver than people give him credit for, finishing top 25 in receiving grade across his last two college seasons, and we know McDaniels loves to scheme targets to running backs.
The Patriots' offensive line was brutal last year, generating just 0.7 yards before contact per carry, the worst in the league. But this offseason, they added Garrett Bradbury, Morgan Moses, and spent early draft capital on Will Campbell. That’s a clear sign they’re serious about building the run game, and Henderson is going to benefit.
He may start as the 1B, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he takes over as the lead back sooner rather than later. The upside here is massive. If he grabs that role and gets used in the passing game the way McDaniels has done in the past, Henderson has the ceiling to break into that top-5 tier by season’s end.
